Ministerio Agua de Vida

Kayaskita, Nicaragua is a community that can only be reached by a 3-hour boat ride down river. A 5-hour car ride from Managua on horrible roads precedes the boat ride. To say the least, this community is not easily accessible. Our friends and missionary colleagues, Ronnie and Angi Hopkins have been ministering in this community for several years. The people have no electricity nor did they have running water - they used the river to bath and wash their clothes.

The community leaders asked Ronnie for help with funds for installation of piping from a local mountain spring to the school, and to construct a water storage tank. The distance from the spring to the tank is 2,400 meters (1.5 miles). Here is what Angi & Ronnie reported “The community is organized and they are hard workers...they did all the labor (dug the ditches, built the retaining wall at the spring as well as a holding tank at the school). Over 100 students will benefit from the clean water as well as the families who live near the school.”

We love being able to help fellow missionaries, especially in communities with folks who are ready to work so long and hard to "get the job done". The good folks at Kayaskita are just such a group - hard working and motivated to do what is needed to improve their community. To God be the Glory!!
